Career Planning for Senior GPs

In early 2023, the Vale of Trent RCGP faculty, Nottinghamshire GP Phoenix Programme, Derbyshire GP Task Force and Lincolnshire Training Hub collaborated to deliver a series of events aimed at supporting senior GP colleagues in all aspects of their career.

We offered four meetings covering a range of topics of interest to later career colleagues. Each session was delivered by expert speakers and facilitated by local GPs.

• 11 January 2023: Finance and Pensions Demystified – Mike Brobbin and colleagues, Chase de Vere
• 22 February 2023: Preparing for retirement and beyond – Michael Wright, Chief Executive Nottinghamshire LMC and GP colleagues who have recently retired
• 15 March 2023: Psychological transitions in later career – Alexis Hutson, certified coach specialising in working with doctors and Dr David Poll
• 26 April 2023: Exploring opportunities for senior GPs and extending your career
