Next Generation GP

Next Gen GP is fully funded leadership programme for trainees and early career GPs. It is based on the principle ‘Energise, Engage and Empower’. The fundamental idea is to turn the insight into impact with inspiration from prominent national and local leaders. This programme was started by Nishma Manek, who was a GP registrar in Cambridge and NHS England fellow.

It consists of five sessions over five months period and each session has a talk by one of the speakers followed by an interview with a second speaker. The programme successfully completed the first cohort in Nottingham in early 2019. The second ending in February 2020, a third ending in June 2021 and a fourth cohort, covering the whole of the East Midlands in 2022.
